About This Spot

Stepping into Relish Cheese and Wine is like finding a hidden treasure amid the bustle of Wigan town centre. This wine bar welcomes you with a warmth that instantly slows the pace of the day. Whether you settle inside the snug, softly lit room or outside in the sheltered garden area, there’s a gentle, unhurried rhythm here that invites meaningful conversation and quiet moments of pleasure.

The atmosphere strikes a balance between cozy familiarity and a subtle touch of elegance. It’s not about rush or fuss but about savoring the little details — the delicate pairing of a carefully selected wine with a thoughtfully curated platter, the soft murmur of laughter from fellow guests, the feeling of genuine hospitality that lingers long after you’ve left your seat.

Relish offers an inviting menu of sharing platters, where the joy comes from discovery and sharing: creamy cheeses, seasonal vegetables, and house-made treats that feel effortlessly thoughtful. Whether you’re drawn to the mixed meat and cheese boards, a vibrant vegan mezze, or a simple cup of tea paired with a freshly baked scone, each bite speaks to the care put into creating a relaxed moment of indulgence.

More than just a wine bar, it’s a place where familiar faces and new friends gather, drawn by the sincerity of hosts who know that hospitality is about more than service — it’s about making everyone feel truly at home. The sheltered outdoor space offers an almost escapist charm, especially when the weather turns crisp, softening the edges of the everyday and turning a simple meet-up into something quietly celebratory.

For those who appreciate slow, small-plate dining enlivened by good conversation and great company, Relish Cheese and Wine offers a sanctuary in the heart of Wigan. It’s a place where the details matter — from the careful selection of wines to the changing weekly specials — and where the experience stays with you, long after the last sip or bite.

Great food great wine and such friendly owners made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door to the minute you leave . We have only had the takeaway platters before we visited on Sunday afternoon . We didn't think it could have been any better but the friendly service and to eat in the garden made us feel like we was on holiday in a Greek taverna the food was great well presented and cooked to perfection Well done keep up the great work

I love coming here and sitting outside the back, it has some cover and heaters so it’s good even when it rains. Nice selection of wine by the bottle, lovely little tapas style dishes in addition to the cheese selection. Yiannis and Tracy are great hosts and always make us feel welcome.

Super friendly wine bar with a great selection of food. Mostly small sharing platters, but all home made. Different specials every week. Cosy atmosphere inside, with a super outdoor garden space to relax in. Hosts cannot do enough to make you genuinely welcome. I’d recommend you book, as the venue already has a great reputation and is very popular. Offers vegan and vegetarian options too. Great wine selection. Beers on tap and bottle.

Lovely little wine bar, great atmosphere and delicious platters. We booked the mother's day package and was enjoyed by all. The owners are lovely and friendly, great place to visit in Wigan with friends and family. Lovely outside area to enjoy nice wine when the weather gets warmer.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Wine and cheese recommendations were fantastic. If we lived around this neck of the woods we'd definitely return!

Lovely experience in the Greek themed garden. The owners really can't do enough for you. Amazing home cooked breads were the perfect accompaniment to the platter of cheese and meats. Will defo be returning

First time here and the service was excellent. The platter for £30 was enough for two as a meal before going into town for drinks. It is a very small place and seating outside is very close together but apart from that it was a good place to visit.
